It's amazing how many planets are being found today. Now if we could just find a habitable one really close, that would be handy.
If you consider the past hundred years, when the technology was comparatively rudimentary, their contributions to human knowledge are even more amazing. When my parents were children, it was thought that the Milky Way was the totality of the universe. And, like today, there were only eight planets.
