A domestic cat's favorite food is salmon.  At least mine's is.

Why.

Cats do not normally catch wild fish, not even feral cats.  They'll eat an occasional captive goldfish I guess.

If they're descended from bigger felines I don't think they fish either.  If cats were domesticated in Egypt, where'd they get a taste for fish in the desert?  Since when did an ocean-going food source become the favorite of an animal that hates getting wet?

Our cat's favorite food is chicken. Fucking loves that stuff.

Um, the Nile? They had perch and catfish and tilapia same as we do. Especially on the Egyptian coast.

Uncooked fowl bones are digestible. Only the cooked ones get brittle.

Feral dogs, dingos, jackals, foxes, wolves eat every- and anything they can find, bones and all.

That's very true. But they do have a problem finding sufficient quantities.
It's sad really. And it's all our fault.

The American Indians have tales of the days before the white man came. When the massive herds of chickens thundered across the plains. Millions in the herds, spreading from horizon to horizon. It was a wondrous time for that proud wild beast.
