Right. Two married couples playing bridge. Have you ever seen married couples playing partners at bridge. Can anything break up a marriage quicker? They would all be dead before they got halfway there. Well, at least two of them would.

"Their bodies come back home" indeed. Not one chance in a billion they'll live through it.

For the bridge, you play husbands vs wives. That works very well. Sending just one couple would guarantee only one survivor.
