I knew little about this movie, except that it was based on Sylvia Nassar's bio of John Nash, the eccentric Princeton mathematician (is there any other kind?).
Opie is a sensitive director, so I expected it to be told with warmth and compassion.
What I did not expect is the riveting way he introduced us to Nash's schizophrenia by letting us see the world through his eyes. The sense of bewilderment the audience feels, when his delusions are exposed as delusions, is very likely similar to what Nash himself felt.
Well done.
