You know that video, that TMZ published, that shows ball player Ray Rice clocking his girlfriend in the elevator, knocking her out cold, then dragging her by the hair out of the elevator? The one that the NFL claimed to have never seen, which is why they never disciplined Rice?

It's just been revealed that they had the tape since April.

Uh-oh. Feces, air recirculator.

NFL is blaming the victim. If there was any justice in the world the NFL would be de-commissioned as a professional sports organization, and all female season ticket holders would demand and get refunds.

But there is no justice.
So the NFL will go on making millions and coddling abusers and women across the country will still have to make hard choices if they want to leave a man who's beating them. Pennsylvania just now decided hey, it might not be a good idea if we evict women who call the cops on their abusers! Ya think?!

It sucks out here. I feel horrible for bringing a daughter into this right now. I want to think it's just down here but it is so not just down here.

Unfortunately the country's turn to the right has included reviving some attitudes I thought we'd left in the 1950s: that women are property, can't make their own medical decisions, don't deserve equal pay, and can't do many of the jobs a man can.

Jesus. Nostalgia for repressive times.
