I've been fasting for 3 days because, well, my stomach is so fucked up no matter what I ate (or how much) I got debilitating stomach pains. This has happened a few times before (actually I'd had a low-level version of it for about 30 years now...) and what I've always done before is to fast for a few days, then start taking active pro-biotics to reset my stomach flora.
Anyway, this post isn't about that.
It's about what I had for lunch today. To celebrate breaking my fast, I splurged on a coconut-crusted red snapper in a sweet mango sauce, with basmati rice and red peppers. Maybe it was the novelty of eating again, maybe it was some kind of low blood sugar delerium, but it was possibly the best dish I'd ever eaten. PERFECT blend of textures and flavors, a symphony for the mouth.
I tipped 50%.
