You been following the story of this POW? Many twists-and-turns in the story. Is he a deserter? A defector? A naive kid who wanted to "walk to India"? Did six (eight?) soldiers die looking for him, or were they just "normal" casualties after his disappearance?

There's enough spin in this story to fuel everybody's narrative.

There's enough spin in this story to ignore it for the next six months. Maybe by then some actual facts will come to light.

I *hope* his letters home complaining what a stupid war he was fighting in Afghanistan aren't used to attempt to gag soldiers from speaking out against the mission.

Well I guess it already has -- his unit was required to sign non-disclosure agreements (which they've now violated).

I know this- you don't fucking leave a man behind just like you don't walk off your post. So I completely applaud the exchange that got him home but now that he's safe, I'd like a word with him. (Annoyed mom side-eye)

I do have questions though, I wonder was he even supposed to be there, he doesn't seem mentally stable looking at him. I wonder how many tours he'd done and had he had any issues while there.

How crazy do you need to be to volunteer for duty in Afghanistan?

Are you sure he volunteered for Afghanistan? I spent 31 months in Viet Nam and I'd never even heard of the fucking place when I joined up.

Catch 22 anyone?
