| It would be nice if something came of it but, sadly, I'm not going to hold my breath.

| Powerful indeed.
I have twice lived in Santa Barbara and it's a beautiful, peaceful town. It's not too far from where I love now. It was a shocking event, and I sadly admit that I am not that surprised when such things happen in the stupid states. California has probably the toughest gun laws of any state, and still this kind of shit cannot be prevented.
Repeal the second amendment.

No, guns are here there and everywhere. Banning them now won't do any good. Ammunition, on the other hand, should be strictly controlled and manufactured only by the government. |

| Read something yesterday that said actor/comedian Chris Rock has proposed unlimited gun ownership -- but bullets should cost $5000 each. That's an even more elegant solution than mine, I like it. https://youtu.be/OuX-nFmL0II |

What it would do is give government at all levels the right to pass and enforce laws governing all matters concerning gun ownership and usage. My suggestion would be to start by eliminating the manufacture of guns in the USA, except for those purchased by the military., and eliminate all importation of guns (and bullets). |

| I believe they call that closing the gate after the horse got out. |

| True. But it's not too late to shoot the horse.

| Javier Bardem in "No Country for Old Men," use a cattle stunner. |

| Wouldn't a horse stunner be more appropriate?
