So one of the news channels carried a story about some national NRA convention going on right now. 80,000 attendees. 100,000,000 members. $200,000,000 annual budget.

The stage looked like a televangelist production, and the head of the NRA, Wayne LaPierre I believe, looked like a preacher.

Wife asked, "Why are they against responsible gun ownership? Why do they oppose background checks and registration? Don't they want to keep guns out of the hands of criminals?"

I had no good answer for her.

Government replaced by rule-of-gun law. If John Wayne were alive he could run as Republican president and win. Hell, he doesn't need to be alive.... He could still win. They want to live like it was in the days of the wild west.
