I don't know if this puppet TV show made it to the US, but I loved it when I was little.

I think Fireball used to be featured frequently on Mystery Science Theater 3000. I've seen numerous clips.

It was unbearably campy.  Like a parody of a parody.

Sled launching is an old idea, which has never been very  practical or cost-effective.
