So I guess the latest trend on YouTube and MixCloud and SoundCloud & such is for people to put together long sets of their favorite music, dubbed from vinyl. They overlap the beginnings and endings to create continuous mixes, or what we in the Dark Ages used to call "mixtapes."
Here's the thing though -- in order to post online, these have to be digitized. All these kids so excited to show off how extensive and deep their "vinyl collections" are -- sorry, we called them LPs back when they were happening -- but what's the point of eschewing CDs if you just have to digitize the end result anyway?
The head veritably explodes.
