| More immediately relevant to Europe, but there's a whole (somewhat different) conversation to be had about nuclear energy in the US. Greta Thunberg on nuclear and why it’s ‘completely insane’ we aren’t talking about energy savingShutting down working reactors so that you can make new coal plants is crazy, although that seems to be the planned strategy in Germany. Not building new reactors in the US is also a strange non-plan. The point is, we know now how to build reactors that are much safer than the ones from 60 years ago. I'm not suggesting building another Chernobyl or Three Mile Island. |
