Jaime Coot's son Cody took over the snake handling congregation after his dad died of a snake bite. Four years later he was bitten behind the ear by the same type of snake, a timber rattlesnake. He was near death and begged to be placed on a mountaintop so god could render judgment on him.
His relatives thought better of it, and rushed him to the hospital where he was given antivenom. He barely survived.
One week later was back in front of the congregation handling snakes.
