Movie: Nomadland

Frances McDormand’s new movie on Hulu is a sombre nuanced portrait of a woman damaged by life, damaged by her husband’s early death, damaged by not wanting what everyone else wants. The editing is stellar, the pacing is deliberate but realistic, and the acting is incredible. It’s not a comedy by any means — Fern is not a happy woman — but she gets by.

Oscar buzz for "Nomadland" though that's probably only warranted because 2020 saw so few releases.

It was a good movie & all, but not very ambitious. It was almost a documentary, and very very slow.
