Netflix Documentary: John Was Trying to Contact Aliens

A short 16-minute documentary on a Michigan nutjob who spent 30 years of his life "broadcasting" electronic music into space hoping to contact aliens.

Except all of the junkyard electronics shown, that I could identify anyway, had NOTHING to do with broadcasting: tone generators, Tesla coils, oscilloscopes... It was like a big low-budget C-movie set, built for looks rather than function.

John himself appears to be a few Heidelbergs short of a six-pack.

But the music featured in the movie is some of my favorite electronic music.  The very first piece featured, is by my best friend growing up.
