It may be a bit racist, but I think I'd like to hear the last one attempted by a Japanese with a thick accent.

Hah. Damn, Richard, I've been sitting here trying to say that as I imagine it might sound. Yes, I'm a terrible person.
How terrible am I? Well, I've been trying to imagine how difficult it would be for a hair lipped person to recite the Susie and her seashells line. Work on that one for a while.

In decades past, the condition was sometimes referred to as harelip, based on the similarity to the cleft in the lip of a hare, but that term is now generally considered to be offensive.

Holy crap. I can't believe I actually spelled that they way I did. I can't recall exactly what I was drinking when I posted that; such forgetfulness may be its own explanation.

Who finds the word harelip offensive, and what is the non-offensive term?

Boring history:
When I was 17 years old, the phrase, "Not bad for a harelip" was popular. I used the phrase in the pool hall one day when my opponent made a good shot. He looked aghast and I turned around to see that Johnny Perry and his two brothers had just walked in the door. Johnny was about 20 years old and huge. His brothers were older and even bigger. Johnny had a severe harelip and accompanying speech problems. One of the brothers gave me a long, withering look, but apparently Johnny didn't hear so there was no problem. It would not have been pleasant had Johnny heard me.

Cleft palate.

Not to be confused with "cleft pudendum," which in common parlance is "hair lips."
