Child Victims Act = Floodgates

The Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts may both face bankruptcy. Deservedly.

I want to see them taxed.

I feel bad for those kids, I really do. But literally shit tons of us never see justice after such trauma. And no amount of money can make it go away. Though it can pay for therapy and that's fine. Pay for people's therapy and stuff. But to me, this won't truly end until some of the power has been sucked out of that corporation- and make no mistake that's what it is. It is a money making deal. And should be treated as such. Part of how those victims were silenced for so long was the long shadow of power partially created by the state's deference to them. That needs to stop. We need to stop pretending that the church, any church, is anything other than a corporation that should be subject to the same rules as any business.
