Follows the primary campaigns of four Brand New Congress Democratic challengers to existing entrenched Democratic congressmen: the hard work of going door-to-door, the endless community meetings in diners and meeting halls and living rooms, the difficulty of raising money to go up against an incumbent.
Though incredible effort was put forward, they all lost their primaries.
Except one. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
The film was probably re-cut to feature her after she unexpectedly won, but it's still amazing. They have footage of her waitressing. They have footage of her trying to decide whether to run. They have footage of her crying from the stress. They have footage of her arguing with her opponent's supporters in the street.
But she is charismatic, she is tenacious, she is smart, she is inspiring. When she sees the primary election results, I cried along with her.
I'm putting this in Arts & Entertainment rather than Politics, because it is a human story and it's very entertaining. The fact that she won elective office is almost secondary.
