"A New Spirit of Cooperation" or Lame Duck?

Congressional Republicans are finally allowing some compromise on legislative agendas: immigration (today), Hurricane Sandy relief (today), the debt ceiling (last week) and others.

Is this a new cooperative spirit (as they spin it) or my own suspicion, now that Obama cannot be denied a second term anymore, the House has realized there is nothing to be gained anymore by voting no on everything.

It may be a realization that people are fed up with their bullshit, and they are worried about reelection (which seems to be the only thing they are ever concerned with, except for campaign contributions).

You know, life is hard enough on its own without assholes like them making it harder. It's like they relish making people suffer.
