Some words have two distinct meanings.  Can you construct sentences that utilize both meanings simultaneously?

  • The only justice for a bad turn of phrase is if it serves a sentence.

  • Old wheels never stop working, even when they're retired.

Reminds me of an old joke, but it was a favorite of mine.

One day a teacher leaves a note on the principal’s desk. “Dear Mr. Taft, my reasons for leaving my favorite teaching job of all time will soon become apparent.

And so will I.”

If the gold mine of mine, one of the miners decided to mine in a restricted area and died when he stepped on a land mine.

Does this qualify?

No. There's no ambiguity, just a sentence displaying the multiple meanings separately.

Strange thing is that it drives me crazy when I hear or read ambiguous sentences, but I can't sit here and make up any. However, here is a true one from many years ago.

A biker friend told me, "I got a new Harley for my wife."

Is that acceptable for this thread?
