I had the date wrong, Trumps SOTU address is tomorrow Jan 30.

Should be interesting. It will be HEAVILY scripted and if he sticks to the prompter I'm sure it'll be uncontroversial. But his little eyes have a tendency to glaze over if you give him a full paragraph, and he might veer off into the size of the crowd at his inauguration, Crooked Hillary's e-mail server or Rocket Man's little penis. Gawd this is the best reality TV show ever.

And those who neither read nor write are in charge.

Arguably, "House" in House of Representatives should be capitalized. Arguably, more than one visitor can fit in the gallery, hence it's a "visitors' gallery."

That was close. I managed to turn the television off before the shit fest begins.

I managed to miss it too.  My broker had his annual investor dinner tonight.

Much better use of my time.

Sounds like he read the prompter. Good for him.

Trump's not used to being told "no." He probably wasn't even aware of the tri-parte structure of government and thought he could be in effect King of the United States.

This too shall pass.

If we make it to November.

There was one throwaway line, buried in the middle of the SOTU, which reporters have dredged up and highlighted.
Donny Trump wrote:
I call on the Congress to empower every cabinet secretary with the authority to reward good workers — and to remove federal employees who undermine the public trust or fail the American people.

And just who is the target of Trump's desire to usurp Congressional oversight?  Why Robert Mueller of course.

NPR says that even if this pussywhipped GOP Congress gives him this power, the Supreme Court will take it away again.

But probably not until AFTER the Mueller investigation is scuppered and buried.

Yeah, this is what Richard linked above.  But I think it bears repeating.
