Robert,

We are seven months into a new term and Congress has yet to vote on major policy reforms. With control of the White House and Congress, what could possibly be standing in the way of making radical improvements to health care, tax reform, and national security?

The answer is the Republican Establishment.

The biggest obstacle that Republicans face comes from within their own party, in the form of inflexible moderates who want nothing more than the status quo.

This is a problem but it’s not insurmountable.

Working to get past this interference will take creativity and ingenuity, something Heritage scholars and researchers can provide in drafting policy that not only advances the conservative principles you and I share, but gets past the Establishment as well.

Only with your help can our team at Heritage continue to create sound conservative policy that is strong enough to navigate the choppy waters of congressional divisiveness we are seeing today.

Will you give to the work The Heritage Foundation is doing to advance the principles that you believe in?

When you donate, the Heritage Board of Trustees will match your gift, as long as it’s received before midnight August 15. The Trustees have made this matching pledge now because they realize the urgency of getting change implemented before liberals claw back seats in Congress and block any chance of it.

Please give a generous gift today to the work of the Heritage Foundation. Your gift will have twice the impact thanks to the matching funds from our Trustees.

Here is the link to donate: https://secured.heritage.org/boardchallenge

I remain optimistic that our nation’s leaders can and will make advances toward conservative policies, thanks to help from friends like you.

Thank you,

Ed Feulner
President
The Heritage Foundation

He did.  I found that amusing as well.  The alt-right has such a unique spin on things it's sometimes hard to see reality from their viewpoint.

Friday Congress went on summer vacation*.  Won't come back until Labor Day.  Remember summer vacations?  I never got one at any of my jobs.

* - Without having passed a single piece of major legislation. Much less anything on the president's 100-day agenda. After six years of obstructionism to a Democratic president, apparently Congress has forgotten how to do their job. With luck(?) the press will harp on this, and mid-terms will see a whole new body.

On the plus side: The Senate has unanimously decided to meet “pro-forma” over the remainder of the August recess, preventing Trump from making recess appointments.

Barack Obama left a wake of devastation, saddling you with a horrible health care system, attacking your constitutional rights, increasing national security threats through unlawful immigration, and leaving the country in a state of near bankruptcy.

I want to see these problems fixed, and so does our Board of Trustees. Will you make a gift to Heritage and push forward conservative solutions?

Make a gift today and have it matched dollar for dollar >>

Solving these problems requires the brightest minds who can focus their intellect on crafting solutions based on proven conservative principles. That’s why our experts are working around the clock to bring sound and sensible conservative policy back to Washington.

And time is not on our side. We have to reverse eight years of bad liberal policies and implement constitutional, conservative policies that give opportunities to all Americans.

And we have a limited window of time to implement new policy before the 2018 midterm elections. And you know that President Trump isn’t just fighting against liberals and the media—he’s waging war against Establishment Republicans who want to protect the status quo.

That’s why members of the Heritage Board feel so strongly that we must act now—and why they are making this generous offer to match every gift dollar-for-dollar before August 15.
