| The Harley showed up this morning. It's a bit more plastic than the automobiles -- like I think 100% -- but it's nicely detailed. Working kickstand. Working rear suspension. Rubber tires. Was only $26. The Isetta showed up last night (record time -- ordered it what Friday?) -- it's a cool item, front door opens and the steering wheel pulls away with the door, just like on the real thing. The fabric sunroof does not appear to open (unfortunately) but there is a removable access panel on the side to get to the (motorcycle) engine. It's a tiny car. Four of them would fit in the same parking space as the Edsel. I just ordered a '56 T-bird for thirty bucks. I don't need it for any alphabetic placeholder, I just wanted one. Maybe it'll stand in for the $260 Bugatti or the $320 Rolls I can't afford. Amazon has a real nice 1957 Jaguar D-type short nose Equippe National Belgique for only $895.

Yes. Hence the still from Robert Blake's 1973 movie "Electra Glide In Blue." |

| I noticed that. It's been a very long time since I saw the movie. Not a bad flick.

| My T-bird showed up last night. The website had warned that "colors may vary" so I was only slightly disappointed that mine didn't show up wearing the pea-green paint of the picture. Instead it's a tomato bisque orange nearly identical to the lower panels of my Isetta.
Hopefully, the color choices are factory options on the real car in 1956. I guess I should investigate this. The colors you most often see (irl) are aqua, robin's egg blue, brick red, white, and maybe the green and orange. |

| Still cannot find a Bugatti or Rolls for less than extortionate prices, but I bid on a 240Z and a Starsky & Hutch Gran Torino for reasonable money.
Loading the CD shelves. Have placed the Corvette, Delorean, Edsel, Ferrari and Harley in service. Could use a G. |

| GT-40.
There is nothing better for "G".
(If you say Gremlin, you will get a visit from my friend Guido. You won't like him.)

| Pssshhhttt. That's a Ford. Fix or repair daily.
I'll see how my bid on the Starsky & Hutchmobile is going. |

That gives me an idea, though, what I can look for if the 1973 Porsche 911 Targa (ice blue) doesn't show up cheaper than $150. |

The 1950s called. You owe them royalties for that remark. I can see why you wouldn't stoop so low as to drive such a car. I mean, just look at its shabby racing history: Daytona 1965 First place 1966 First, second and third Sebring 1966 First, second and third LeMans 1966 First, second and third 1967 First and fourth 1968 First 1969 First and third. Yeah, it would be embarrassing to be seen driving a Ford (although the car pictured has exactly one part from Ford). |

| "Stoop so low" indeed. I can't even get out of my wife's Civic! Why don't you look around, see if you can find a GT40 for under $50. |

Nevermind. I won the Starsky Hupmobile for $35 postpaid. Deal! |

APPARENTLY(?!?) nobody has ever made a 1:18 diecast AMC Pacer. |

| Damn! The Dauphines are still $75. Checking E-Bay again I found a RR Silver Cloud III listed for $63.95 with $9.95 shipping, so I pulled the trigger. That was what I really wanted anyway. |

| Grrrr.
After 3 months on backorder, I tried to cancel the Willys Station Wagon only to find out it had shipped (finally!) the day before.
Okay. But my address has changed since I placed the order.
Contacted UPS and they could not change the delivery address because they're using USPS as the delivery partner. (What?) It was scheduled for delivery today (according to the UPS tracking number) and Mrs NoCo was going to be at the old house all day anyway (painting and spreading bark) so she should've been able to receive it.
But USPS has a change of address on file for me, so they never attempted to deliver. Will they try my new address Monday, or will they send it back to the sender? Grrrr. |

| Thought about an Amphicar for the As -- they're iconic -- but it would appear 1:43 is the only size model available. Maybe my friend's Airstream would do? |

Well, ya gets what ya pays for. This Rolls is a nice heavy-duty diecast metal model, but the doors don't open. The hood doesn't open. The trunk doesn't open. The wheels don't steer. There is no suspension. The bottom isn't detailed, just flat plastic. It's a cheap knock-off of the $320 model, which looks like this: I'm disappointed but not really surprised. And not really upset either. Not $246 worth at any rate. P.S. - My Willys still hasn't been delivered. It's not at the old house either. The website says they have two days to attempt redelivery, but today is the 2nd day and tomorrow is a holiday. I have a bad feeling about this.

"A" is an easy letter for cars. Lots of them. How about an Austin Healey 3000 or an AC Aceca Besides being cool in their stock configuration, these two cars have been often modified. My old friend had one of each with high-performance chevy engines. Of course, he may also be the only man in the world to put a Chevy in a Mercedes 300 SL. The AC was the first platform used for the Cobra; the first models were called AC Cobras. |

| A ought to be the James Bond Aston Martin. The DB4 was a nice car even before adding machine guns. |

| I used to maintain a DB5 for a guy here. It was fun to drive, especially with the right-hand drive.
And I believe James Bond drove a DB5 in the early movies, didn't he?

They don't get much more iconic than this. |
