And I believe James Bond drove a DB5 in the early movies, didn't he?

When Goldfinger came out, the tricked-out car was supposed to be a DB5, but I read somewhere that it was really a DB4. Looking at wikipedia, it seems to be saying it was a prototype DB5. Wikipedia also says he drove a DB3 in the book - I don't remember that at all.

I haven't heard about switching the car in Goldfinger.  In the book, it was no doubt a DB4, as the DB5 hadn't yet been produced. I doubt it was a DB3. That was a racing car and there were only ten made.

Or, as Mrs NoCo -- ever the more PRACTICAL of the pair -- points out, "You don't really NEED a marker for the letter 'A', now do you."

That would depend on how you order the things, wouldn't it?

"A" is for "Anal." Put a model of your car up there for "A". Laughing

If I could find a 1998 Forester I'd buy it in a New York minute.

P.S. - My Willys still hasn't been delivered.  It's not at the old house either.  The website says they have two days to attempt redelivery, but today is the 2nd day and tomorrow is a holiday.  I have a bad feeling about this.

Tell me if the UPS tracking website inspires any confidence in you.

It doesn't me.

Yay. Willys finally hit the doorstep today -- 12 days late, 21 days after shipping and 3 months after ordering.

Now that I've added a shelf -- 22 more feet of shelf space -- I was able to leave gaps between letters where I hadn't before.

Therefore I'm thinking again of cars that begin with:
  • B
  • H
  • P
  • U
  • X
  • Y
The XKE seems like a good choice. Have not been able to find a Bugatti or Porsche 911 Targa for reasonable money. The damn Hudson Hornets are $95 too!

I won a nice racing green/tan leather interior E-type on eBay the other day. $20.50.

Before it was the Batmobile, it was this: the 1955 Lincoln Futura. I built the kit model of the car when I was eleven or twelve years old, several years before the Batmobile..

Huh. I just looked up the stats to provide concrete evidence, and darn if the E-type is only 7 inches longer than a Manta. Seem much longer!

In pictures, the E-Type looks much bigger than it is. They are actually very small cars. The wheelbase on the early cars was only an inch and a half longer than the old VW beetles (but it did weigh a thousand pounds more).

I changed my tail light the other evening. Did really well, too. I'm proud of me because I have never worked on anything built in this century. Very Happy
