| Last Friday, my wife took our 13-year-old grandson to Los Angeles to watch an NBA game between the San Antonio Spurs and the LA Clippers. Happy to say, the Spurs won. When they went back to their hotel, they shared an elevator with Steve Ballmer and his wife. Despite the once-in-a-lifteime opportunity, neither my wife nor my grandson said, "Nyah. Nayah. Nayah. You lost. Ha Ha." Ballmer is the owner of the Clippers. Hearing about this, my first thought was naturally, "My God! How much did that hotel cost us?" I'm thinking that Ballmer doesn't stay at Motel 6. |

| When I was a senior in high school, I visited a girl I knew who was a year ahead of me, so she was now in her first quarter at the University of Washington. I was pretty fond of her. We sat on the lawn in front of her dorm, chatting amiably for an hour or two -- when she suddenly started yawning and saying she needed to go up to her dorm room and take a nap.
It wasn't until YEARS LATER that it dawned on me she was probably inviting me to join her. |

| Many years ago I had the opportunity to get a really nice Harley for my first wife. The way things turned out, I should have made the trade. |
