I'm guessing, from this banner, that i24 News will not be a replacement for Al Jazeera America. They say "broadcasting from the heart of the Middle East" but let's face it Israel is not really "the Middle East." Israel is, if anything, the 51st United State, or a protectorate, or a colony or or something. VERY different politics, VERY different policy agenda from Lebanon or Palestine or Yemen or Sudan. News coming out of Israel has a VERY different slant than the old Al Jazeera network -- which spoke for 3 billion people. Israeli news tends to be very pro-hawk, very pro-settlement, very anti-Muslim. It's right-wing propaganda for the most part. I'm not expecting much. |
