A Letter From Prison Empty
PostSubject: A Letter From Prison   A Letter From Prison EmptyTue Oct 25, 2016 3:53 pm

Recently I sold a book on Amazon and mailed it to an address in Martinez, CA.  The second line of the address was an indecipherable string of numbers.

Turns out them was inmate ID numbers, and the address was the Martinez Detention Facility.  I had no idea.

Got a letter from the inmate today, his book was stopped at the gate because inmates can only receive magazines and books direct from the publisher or from a book retailer.  Not, apparently, through Amazon's customer-to- customer exchange.  The inmate asked me to resend it.

The inmate got a copy of the intercept notice, same as I did. The book is apparently being returned to me, and I will refund the sale when I receive it back.

Because I can read.
