Nor do they get sympathy from me.

The militarization of police departments across the country is an abominable act.

I doubt that many people are surprised at the shooting of policemen. When they had the big memorial gathering in Dallas, they talked about the five dead cops but no one mentioned the approximately 1,000 black men that will be killed by police this year. If no one in public office will speak about it, then it is not unexpected that some of those in the cops' gun sights will do what they can to bring it to the public's attention.
