I don't know why any woman would willingly choose to live in a red state. Or why anyone would want to raise kids there, either. France has its problems, but there are times when it looks really good.

I know a few women who could leave here and don't. I envy and don't understand them. They seem to be under the impression- no, I take that back- they are under the impression that this place can be changed. That people like me who leave here (or plan to) are the real problem and if we all just stayed and fought it would be ok. I honestly can't tell you how much name calling occurs when I discuss me leaving here and why. I have actually been called a coward among other things. As supportive and positive as people like NoCo and my friend Sarah are about me leaving a lot of the people here I know are exactly the opposite. They don't seem to understand we are simply outnumbered. That's all there is to it, there just isn't enough of us to keep each other safe and accomplish our goals.

Plus, in the South it usually isn't the women making decisions about women's healthcare.

Yup. For all their hollering about small government the GOP sees to it that it's my local Republicans who decide my health care stuff.

Can you imagine if women got to decide how men got to hunt & fish? Or what they could eat? Or comb their hair?
