And the takeaway I, ummm take away, is that the spiral has been rapidly expanding since at least 1940.  Do we really want to return to pre-1940 technology to try to reverse it?  

No.  I think our money would be better spent moving people out of low-lying areas, colonizing the sea with floating cities, developing drought-resistant crops and thinking about orbiting some huge solar panels that can convert solar radiation to energy and shield the earth.

There are a lot of hard questions related to climate change and what to do about it. Unfortunately, there are still people who deny that it's even happening. The GIF pretty much nails that one.

That's about a billion people. Where we will get all the moving vans?

Most of the people who will need to be moved won't need "moving vans." They'll need subsistence housing.
