Well, not really. But there is a lot of concern about the validity of the primary vote counting (which is still going on). Why, I wonder, was it decided not to do any exit polling in California? That's the best verification we have that the results tendered by the "vote police" is accurate.

This article has some good info on what's been happening here and across the country. For example:
Quote :
Meanwhile, nationwide primary voting results are being called into question based on consistent anomalies in exit polling, which apparently affected only the Democratic race and not the Republican, with disparities favoring Hillary Clinton disproportionately. Exit polls are internationally considered a reliable indicator of election veracity and are one of the only "forensic" tools available in the United States to determine the accuracy of the secret machine counts. Before the final definitive primary races on June 7, including California, all exit polls were cancelled without explanation.

Makes one wonder.

My little county, by the way, went for Bernie.

In the 90s, exit polls were touted as the best thing since sliced bread. Starting with the 2000 presidential election, all of a sudden the media wasn't drawing attention to exit poll anomalies. I don't think the 21t century has featured an honest election yet.

Besides which, the outcome of the democratic primary was determined THE DAY BEFORE the California vote. Doesn't matter who won CA anymore.

The outcome of the primary is decided at the convention. It doesn't matter what a news organization predicts.

Oh Suzannah.

Quote :
The California primary finale provoked ubiquitous outrage as the Associated Press played queen-maker, anointing Clinton the nominee based on secret interviews of the superdelegates, who will not actually cast their votes until the Democratic Convention in July.

I'd say it mattered except Bernie did not lose by a small margin. What was it, 58% to 42%, something like that?  Bernie supporters -- like me -- need to put on our big boy pants and accept that Hillary and the Democratic Establishment won the primary. She not only won the delegate count, she also won more voters. They let Sanders have his fun but it was in the end entirely unrealistic to think that they'd let him even come close to winning.

Yeah, Bernie has pretty much lost the race, but we won't know what the margin is in California until all the votes are counted. They've got a few million left to count.

Which won't matter a whit, either way.  Sorry.

My state just introduced a bill to move their primary up from May to March. At this rate, the whole nation will be having a confidence vote on the president after her first 100 days in office.

It may not be a determinant in the award of the nomination, but Sanders taking California would sure as shit get the attention of the Democratic big wigs. That is not meaningless. You give up too easily.

Everybody thinks their state rules the nation.

Pull on your big boy pants. Clinton won.

So I should bow down and fall in line?

No, thank you.

So you're one of the 25% of Bernie supporters who say they will not support Hillary Clinton?

Donald Trump wants to thank you.

I remember, back on Debate Unlimited, when I had to explain to Andreas Kostas why his vote for Nader helped elect George W. Bush.

No. Incorrect assumption.

I can assure you that you need not explain anything about politics to me.

I can see Elizabeth Warren accepting a position in the new Clinton Administration.

I cannot see Bernie doing the same. He'll probably go back to being a Senator, and Agent Provocateur.

The official tally, complete as of June 7 with 100% of the votes counted, is:
  • Clinton 55.8%, 1,940,580 votes, 269 delegates
  • Sanders 43.2%, 1,502,043 votes, 206 delegates

I don't know where you got those figures, but not all votes were counted as of June 7.

This report from California Secretary of State lists counts which they describe as "100.0% ( 22,356 of 22,356 ) precincts partially reporting as of June 16, 2016, 9:27 a.m." Note the word, partially.

Estimates put the number of voters at 8.9 million.

Warren has not said no to the possibility of VP, but I can't imagine where she would fit in a Clinton cabinet. She and Clinton are very far apart on financial matters and I don't know what else she would be appointed to. She carries a lot of weight in the Senate for a new comer, and she may think that's the best place to be.
