Trump is widely expected -- okay, maybe "narrowly expected" -- to name Sarah Palin as his running mate. While, on the surface this seems like a wack idea, putting a totally unqualified runningmate on a totally unqualified ticket, on another level it makes perfect sense.
It helps Trump's negative image with some women voters (the uneducated ones).
It establishes Tea Party bona fides for Trump.
Palin brings with her a built-in fundraising machine.
Palin is not likely to be a runningmate who challenges him on any policy issues (which almost any qualified candidate would).
Assassination insurance.
