Focus on Freedom Empty
PostSubject: Focus on Freedom   Focus on Freedom EmptyWed Jun 26, 2013 12:18 pm

Somehow I got on the mailing list of this radical rightwing Koch brothers website which periodically sends out impassioned screeds which are usually amusing to read and try to figure out just exactly WHO they are railing against.  Today's is a doozy.
Quote :
Ignorance is bliss is a fun saying and is often true, but most often it is not true. This is especially true with regards to the Constitution of the United States. The Constitution that is the finest document for the Freedom of every individual in America is so misunderstood that the people in America have allowed the predicted corruption of it to take so many of their Freedoms away that they believe it is government’s job to control us and take care of us. A reading of it (which only takes less than an hour) clearly shows that the opposite is true. It is the people in government who have corrupted it and lied to Americans so much that Americans have been conquered by the Lawbreakers. The Lawmakers are the Lawbreakers because they have broken so many Constitutional laws that the entire spirit of the Constitution is lost to most Americans. Nowhere in the Constitution does it state that the Federal Government can make laws to restrict the Freedom of Americans. So, why are there thousands of laws that do just that? It is because right from the first Administration of the Country Lawbreakers began their march toward placing Americans in servitude to the government. Early on it was difficult because the American people were well aware of the tyranny that governments can force upon them. They had just fought a tough Revolutionary War to get out from under such tyranny. They knew that tyranny was just around the corner if they allowed even the slightest infringement on their Liberty. But Lawmakers, being what they are, just kept inching along into the Freedom of Americans. Their story was always due to some problem that they had to fix. Sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn’t. However one can see that, like water on a rock, the little by little took big bites out of the Freedom of American citizens. And, when there was a crises, they took even bigger bites. From the Civil War on the bites got bigger and bigger until in the twentieth century they got into second gear and gobbled up Freedom at an accelerated speed with both Political Parties helping in the evil. Beginning in the twenty first century the Presidents and Congress shifted into high gear for 12 years creating more tyranny than King George ever thought of. Currently the President and Congress are about to put their plunder and tyranny into over-drive, putting Americans into complete servitude to the pleasures of the government people.

The ignorance of the American people has allowed this to happen. When one sees how fast the tyranny has come over the past 12 years, one sees how ineffective the protests have been to return to limited government. The Lawbreakers have taken advantage of the ignorance of the American people and used it to their advantage. There has been no slowing down of the tyranny. The people in government have just tweaked their tactics to fit this current situation, but have not decelerated, even with the massive Tea Parties. To overcome this ignorance all Americans should read the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution (takes about an hour) at least once a month, until the lesson of Freedom is well entrenched in their minds. This is not a course that one should risk flunking. There are many on line sites such as Cato, Hillsdale college, Heritage Foundation, Future of Freedom Foundation and many more for those who want to receive instruction. FOCUS ON FREEDOM for all and make America what it was meant to be.
So apparently twelve years ago was some kind of watershed. What happened in 2001?

    * 9/11
    * Patriot Act
    * AOL & Time Warner merged
    * Wikipedia launched
    * Skippy Bush inaugurated
    * MIR crashes to earth
    * Holland legalizes same sex marriage
    * First Apple store opens
    * First Bush tax cut
    * Timothy McVeigh executed
    * Windows XP launched
    * iPod released
    * Bush legalizes torture
    * Enron collapses
    * Bush withdraws from the Anti-Ballistic Missile Treaty
Thanks to Wikipedia

That is one of the most poorly-written and meaningless pieces of crap I have read in a long time.
