My youngest son was being a bully at school. We sent him in for demeaning.

My older son passed his final exams. I think we can detest him now.

My iPhone battery died. I'm sending it in for revolting.

Is the act of taking a letter from an envelope developing?

Uh, that would be "de-enveloping" which isn't a word.

An envelope can be said to envelop its contents (that's actually the origin of the word envelope).

The prefix "en" can mean "put into." The prefix "de" can mean "removal" or "reversal."

So if the envelope is said to envelop the contents, wouldn't it stand (under the title of this thread, not according to proper word usage) that one could develop the contents by removing them?

Good grief. It's a bit of humor. I had less trouble defending my thesis.

I didn't know this was going to be on the test.
I'm not prepared.

If you had started with that phrase, I would have know it immediately. "It's a cook book!"

"Dismembering" means just about exactly what it sounds like...

But not "disarming."

"Debride" doesn't mean splitting up the wedding party.
