I may not watch the whole thing -- I mean really what's the point -- but it's interesting to note that Reince Priebus came onstage before the debate and stated that the Republican Party will stand behind whomever gets the nomination. When has that ever happened before? When has the presumptive nominee ever been denounced by the majority of party members before? When has the previous nominee ever stated that under no circumstances would he ever support the current nominee?

Interesting times.

CNN's moderators are certainly better prepared, and ask better questions, than the debates moderated by Fox. So far the questions have been substantive and serious.

Not the answers, of course.

Yikes, when the candidates address the issues instead of each other, Ted Cruz is really really scary. He's quite the demagogue isn't he.

You know, I would vote for Donald J. Trump -- if I could just once comb his hair back on TV. Twisted Evil

Cruz just mentioned the Reagan/Iran agreement on hostages. Of course he failed to mention its illegality.

The whole debate was sober and gracious, if quite short of substantive details.  At one point Cruz said said that Israel has a "liberal democratic government" and used that as a good thing.  I'd like to see that quip pulled out and featured.

Trump's a freaking moron, repeatedly self-aggrandizing ("I'm the smartest person up here, and I'm the only one who knows what to do, believe me") rather than answering questions.  The other candidates -- especially Kasich -- sounded shrill and desperate.

I think the Dems will win a landslide in November.

Donald was asked, point blank, about his stated plan to target the families of ISIS members. The questioner pointed out that this would be in violation of US law and the Geneva Convention.

Donald replied "The law will have to be expanded" -- completely ignoring the Geneva Convetion part of the question. All the other candidates, when asked if they'd target non-combatants, answered "Absolutely not."

This morning this is not headline news. Why does the press give Trump such a pass???
