I surrender. I tried to find a connection between the book 1984 and the year 1973. That seemed like the obvious, but I could not find anything.

You lose a point.  I said "You know me better than that" to point you to musical permutations.  I said "other permutations of 1984" (with italics) to confirm it was a title.  There are lots of permutations of 1984: the 1948 book, the 1984 film, and lots of musical references.  Only one points to 1973.
