Fireworks

Watched on TV last night the fireworks displays in Seattle, New York and Washington DC.

There is truly nothing new under the sun. Crappy music, things that go boom, sparkly embers.

Every year thousands of fires are started by morons with cheap explosives. In addition to the NRA I think fireworks are another American tradition I'll ban when I become king.

I think fireworks are wonderful, although on the dangerous side. But they need to be appreciated outdoors under the stars. You can't set them to music, and watching them on TV is a waste of time. And trying to add lasers to the show is counter-productive, also. The biggest tragedy of events like the Macy's show in New York is that they start with the best fireworks money can buy, then ruin the display with all the extraneous garbage.
