Stand Up Comics Empty
PostSubject: Stand Up Comics   Stand Up Comics EmptyWed Jun 24, 2015 6:48 am

Was in the mood for giggles last night so I perused the stand up comedian offerings of Netflix. Found three I'd never heard of.

Made it ten minutes into the routine of the first one, and less than five into the other two.

Rather than "stand up comedy" all three immediately started riffing on the sexual differences between men and women, using very crude and vulgar language. They were not talking facts, but reinforcing untrue stereotypes. They all three made faces supposed to be a woman in orgasm (one of them WAS a woman).

Am I getting to be an old fogey or has comedy in this country sunk to some kind of lowest common denominator?

There always have been comics who aren't funny. Try Lewis Black, he'll give you some lessons on being a grumpy old man (and he is usually very funny).
