Why is it, I want to know, that just before you fall asleep you always get some little itch on your face or neck or shoulders? It always requires that you 'untuck' yourself even if you've just settled into a comfortable position.
I have TRIED to ignore these sensations -- I figure they're leftovers from our evolution where we had to fight off real biting insects in our beds -- I tell myself "it's nothing, just ignore it" -- but the longer I ignore it the stronger the urge grows to scratch it.
I am unable to ignore these itches, despite knowing they're all psychological.
