Why is it that none of the liberal commentators have drawn the parallels between ISIS, The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria -- and the modern conservative Republican Party? They both want to return to earlier values, they both want to restrict the rights of women, they both want to limit what you can read or write, they both want elected officials to determine what is moral or permitted.

Fundamentalism is fundamentalism.

It's about time somebody called them out on it.

It's true that the philosophical underpinnings of the right wingers in this country are indistinguishable from those of the right wingers in the Middle East. Not just ISIL, but the leaders of the countries and the leaders of their opposition.

It is far easier for political egomaniacs to garner support from fearful, ignorant, egocentric people (right wing) than from educated, altruistic people (moderate-to-left wing). Therefore, it is not surprising that so many uprisings are led by those on the right.

Why don't the liberal commentators in this country publicly draw the parallels you mentioned? Well, who do they work for? And, quite frankly, holding liberal political and social beliefs does not necessarily make you intelligent.
